Doctrine of Basic Structure is a form of judicial review that is used to test the legality of any legislation by the courts.
India, which was once a part of the ancient continent Gondwanaland, split away 100 million years ago and began drifting northwards.
It refers to the study of the earth's magnetic field by using magnetic fields preserved in rocks, archaeological materials, or silt etc. It was first studied in the 1940s by British physicist Patrick M.S. Blackett.
In 1967, McKenzie and Parker suggested this theory of plate tectonics. It was formulated from the Continental Drift Theory, Convection Current Theory, etc.
It was proposed by Alfred Wegener in 1912. It deals with the distribution of the oceans and continents.
In 1930s, Arthur Holmes discussed this theory with the possibility of convection currents in the mantle. He considered it as the soul of Seafloor Spreading Theory.
Magnetic field determines the force exerted by electric currents with moving electric charges on other electric currents. There is movement of liquid iron and other metals in the outer core.
The Earth gets its own magnetic field lines due to the presence of the metallic fluids in the outer and inner core. The outer core consists of molten iron.
