About Aishwaryam Prajapati

Aishwaryam’s father, Ram Kamal Prasad, is an assistant professor at the Institute of Co-operative & Corporate Management, Research & Training (ICCMRT), and her mother, Urmila Prajapati, is a homemaker. Her family has been a constant source of support throughout her UPSC journey.

Aishwaryam was drawn to the civil services due to her passion for making a positive societal impact. She wanted to be directly involved in solving complex social and governance issues, which led her to choose the Indian Administrative Services (IAS). Struggles/Challenges

After her first unsuccessful attempt, she analyzed her shortcomings and revised her preparation strategy to focus more on quality study hours over quantity. Her resilience and perseverance paid off in her second attempt, where she learned from past mistakes, adopted a more structured approach, and clinched the 10th rank.

Preparation Strategy

For Prelims:
Aishwaryam emphasized a thorough understanding of the syllabus and previous year’s papers. Her strategy included focusing on high-yield topics like polity and history, while staying updated with current affairs. She maintained a disciplined study schedule, ensuring a strong balance between static and dynamic portions of the exam.

For Mains:
For the Mains examination, she focused on answer writing practice and content enrichment. She dedicated time to mastering her optional subject, History, ensuring deep conceptual clarity. Answer writing became a daily practice for her, refining her skills in presenting structured responses under time constraints.

For Interview:
Aishwaryam believed the interview phase required consistent personality development, not just a few weeks of preparation. She attended a few mock interviews to refine her communication skills and received valuable feedback to ensure her responses were confident, thoughtful, and spontaneous.
