Why chosen civil services

Rahul chose to pursue civil services primarily because of his strong inclination toward public service. Struggles and Challenges

Rahul faced significant challenges during his UPSC journey, especially after failing in his first two attempts. Managing setbacks while maintaining focus and motivation was tough. He tackled these difficulties by evaluating his previous failures, making strategic changes in his study approach, and remaining resilient. Self-study came with its own difficulties, including maintaining discipline and finding reliable study materials. Nevertheless, his perseverance paid off on his third attempt. Balancing social expectations and staying focused was another challenge he navigated successfully.

For Prelims:

Rahul emphasized consistent revision of standard sources like NCERT textbooks and relied on test series to assess his preparation level. He practiced as many previous year papers as possible and revised frequently to keep his knowledge fresh. Current affairs, especially from reputed sources, formed a crucial part of his prelims strategy.


For Mains:

For mains, Rahul focused on structuring his answers well, with concise introductions and conclusions. He made sure to write practice answers regularly, incorporating feedback from test series. He balanced between static portions and current events while also dedicating ample time to his optional subject, Anthropology, which required an in-depth understanding of concepts.


For Interview:

Rahul’s interview preparation was centered around mock interviews, focusing on improving his confidence and clarity. He worked on delivering answers confidently, staying calm under pressure, and maintaining composure. He also focused on being updated on current issues, especially those concerning his home state of Bihar.
