Why Chosen for Civil Services

Struggles and Challenges

Yash’s UPSC journey was marked by several challenges, as he relied entirely on self-study without enrolling in any formal coaching. Managing the vast syllabus and staying motivated over the long duration of preparation was not easy, but Yash’s time management skills and his ability to stay focused helped him navigate these hurdles. He ensured that he studied consistently for at least 8 hours a day. Additionally, staying away from distractions and balancing mental stress were other key challenges, but the unwavering support from his family and friends kept him going.

Preparation Strategy

For Prelims:

Yash placed a heavy emphasis on understanding the syllabus and thoroughly covering each subject. He focused on reading standard books such as NCERTs, along with daily newspapers to stay updated on current affairs. Time management was key, with a daily schedule that balanced multiple subjects.


For Mains:

His strategy for Mains involved making detailed notes for each topic and understanding the historical context of important events. Yash emphasized revising these notes regularly. For essay preparation, he focused on current socio-economic issues, leveraging his background in Economics to craft thoughtful arguments.


For Interview:

For the interview, Yash worked on improving his communication skills and keeping up with recent developments in national and international affairs. His focus was on articulating his thoughts clearly and confidently, especially on topics related to Economics and public administration. Mock interviews helped him refine his answers and build confidence.
