Making items out of clay is one of man’s earliest crafts. The oldest evidence was discovered in the Neolithic site of Mehrgarh, which is today in Pakistan. The technique of clay pottery manufacture was well developed around 6000 BC, according to the relics.

Painted Grey Ware pottery, which is generally grey in color and was associated with the Vedic period, is the most well- known ancient pottery (1000-600 BC).
